You can get married in the Bahamas with just 24 hours residency. The following is a summary of the required documents:

• Bahamas marriage license, obtained from the Registrar General's Office in Nassau or the Commissioner's Office in the Out Islands;
• a single status affidavit, which proves you are single and free to marry, or a certified copy of the decree absolute;
• couples must be over the age of 18, or must otherwise have the consent of the legal guardian;
• a photographic proof of identification (a passport will suffice).
